Born in Algiers in 1962, Jean-Michel Poveda currently resides in the Gard region.

 

In 1964, he moved to Toulouse with his parents. From a very young age, he discovered painting alongside his father, an artist, whose gestures and techniques he observed in the family studio. These early experiences marked the starting point of a lasting vocation and a profound need for artistic expression.

 

Driven by a lifelong passion for the visual arts, Jean-Michel Poveda pursued training at the ABC school in Paris (drawing and painting courses) as well as art education with the CNED, focusing on technical initiation and creativity. This education helped solidify his artistic identity and nurture his personal approach.

 

After several years in the Paris region, he chose to settle near Le Vigan, in the heart of the Cévennes. It was there that he discovered the light of the South, a major source of inspiration for his work. His work strives to capture the natural beauty that surrounds him, the beauty he contemplates each morning when he opens the shutters of his studio.
